After years with the same broker, this client received a renewal quote of £63,560.00 and came to Clapton for a review. We identified an imported vehicle that was restricting the choice of insurers. Our advice: replace it with a UK-specification vehicle to open up more options. With that change, we approached the market and obtained several competitive quotations, including a renewal quote of £16,887.10 — £46,672.90 less than the original renewal quote. Knowing which insurers will consider a fleet — and which details can limit the options — helps us find better value while reviewing the cover, excesses and terms around the client’s needs.

Both figures include Insurance Premium Tax. The lower quote followed a change to the fleet: an imported vehicle was replaced with a UK-specification vehicle. This is not a comparison for an unchanged fleet. Vehicle replacement costs and any additional broker or finance fees are excluded.
